Google announced new features for the Google Wallet app in June to make it a more comprehensive digital wallet solution. One of the recent additions is the ability to add workplace ID cards to the app, eliminating the need to carry a physical ID or lanyard. This update is part of the Google Play Services app version 23.44, which began rolling out recently. Once available, users will be able to add digital IDs, such as state driver’s licenses, alongside their workplace ID cards. Google did not specify a rollout timeline for the workplace ID card support in its June announcement, but it is expected to reach users soon. This will make it easier for them to set up digital IDs for reliable use in the future.
