Honor unveils Magic 6 Pro with a camera bump inspired by luxury watch design

Honor teases the design of the upcoming Magic 6 Pro, incorporating a new and interesting camera bump design. According to Honor CEO George Zhao, the new design draws inspiration from historical civilization and the beauty of nature. The image reveals the phone’s sleek and futuristic appearance and a color named Haihu Qing, inspired by the Chinese Qinghai Lake.

Mr. Zhao is proud of the “cong” shape used for the camera bump, which is a Neolithic symbol representing unity and harmony. The camera bump of the Honor Magic 6 Pro features the most popular diamond-cutting form from the 19th century, also found in luxury watches.

The three cameras inside the square-inside-a-circle shape follow the same design language used in previous generations of the Magic series. The “Star Wheel” was inspired by the first image of a black hole. Additionally, the back of the phone seems to be curved, as seen in previous generations.

Rumored specs include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 160-megapixel periscope zoom camera. These models are expected to incorporate the Omnivision’s OV50K sensor, boasting a 1/1.3-inch size for enhanced photo quality. The Honor Magic 6 Pro will retain the 66W fast-wired charger from its predecessor and the official unveiling is scheduled for January 10–11.
