In the near future, you’ll have the ability to create Google Keep notes directly from the lock screen

Phones Canada has learned that Android 14 will allow users to change and set shortcuts on the lock screen. This feature will provide easier access to various functions such as Camera, Do Not Disturb, Mute, QR Code Scanner, Flashlight, Video Call, and Note-taking.

To enable the Note-taking shortcut, users will need to set a “default notes app” in the Settings > Apps > Default apps section. Google Keep version 5.23.482.04 now qualifies as a default notes app, allowing users to select it for the lock screen shortcut.

Enabling Developer Options may be necessary to access the default notes app selection page. Once enabled, users can set up the “default notes app” and launch the notes app from the lock screen without unlocking the device. However, it should be noted that the stylus note-taking feature is not yet fully supported by Google Keep, as some settings and updates are still required.

Overall, Android 14’s new lock screen shortcuts provide convenient access to essential functions, and Google Keep is working on adding full support for the stylus note-taking feature.
