MediaTek has introduced its latest application processor, the Dimensity 9300, featuring a powerful configuration of four Cortex-X4 CPU cores and four Cortex-A720 performance CPU cores. Unlike other chipsets, the Dimensity 9300 does not include low-power efficiency CPU cores, focusing on handling more complex tasks efficiently.
The Dimensity 9300 SoC is currently powering the Vivo X100 series, and early reports suggest that concerns about overheating have not materialized. Here are some key details about this new processor:
– The prime Cortex-X4 CPU core on the Dimensity 9300+ can reach speeds of up to 3.4GHz, an improvement from the 3.25GHz speed on the Dimensity 9300.
– The remaining three Cortex-X4 CPU cores on the Dimensity 9300+ maintain a max clock speed of 2.85GHz.
– The four Cortex-A720 CPU cores on both chipsets run at a clock speed of up to 2.0GHz.
The upcoming release of the Dimensity 9300+ on May 7th promises enhanced AI capabilities for devices like the Vivo X100s. Vivo has already showcased how generative AI can change image seasons in demo images taken with this handset.
Meanwhile, MediaTek is also working on its next flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9400 AP, set to be available for shipments in the fourth quarter of this year. Manufactured by TSMC using its second-generation 3nm process node (N3E), this chipset will feature the next-generation Cortex-X5 CPU core alongside three Cortex-X4 performance CPU cores and four Cortex-A720 performance CPU cores.
Stay tuned for more updates as MediaTek continues to push innovation in the telecommunications industry with its cutting-edge processors like the Dimensity series.
