Apple has decided to pull the collaborative playlist feature from the upcoming iOS 17.2 update for compatible iPhone models. This feature would have allowed approved accounts to add tunes to an Apple Music playlist. However, Apple is concerned that this feature could be misused to mess up playlists and add unwanted tunes.
In addition to this, the Journal feature will be added to iOS 17.2, allowing users to keep a personal diary on their device protected by Face ID or Touch ID. Furthermore, the Translate feature will be added to the Action Button in the update.
iOS 17.2 will also address an issue that has been preventing iPhone users from using wireless chargers in General Motors vehicles. According to the release notes for iOS 17.2 RC, the update will “fix an issue that may prevent wireless charging in certain vehicles.” Although Apple’s notes do not specifically mention GM, it is likely that Apple is focusing on the problem with GM’s wireless charging system.
The update will also include various improvements to weather widgets and an enhancement to AirDrop that will support expanded contact sharing options. Additionally, after installing the update, Qi2 wireless charging will be supported by the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 lines.
The iOS 17.2 update is expected to be released as early as next week.
