Last week, Google released the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1. This is the first beta for the December Pixel Feature Drop and includes a new setting page for a feature called “Private Space.”
“Private Space” will allow users to set up a new user profile on Android where they can hide apps and other items. This feature is aimed at making Android safer and more secure for users. While other Android manufacturers have similar features, such as Samsung’s Secure Folder, “Private Space” creates a new profile, giving it an advantage.
Pixel users will soon be able to create or delete a “Private Space,” and will have the option to unlock it with the screen lock and make it visible.
The presence of “Private Space” in the Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 release suggests that it will be offered to compatible Pixel users when the December Feature Drop is released next month. However, users may not be able to use “Private Space” until then.
While Google no longer releases updates at the same time each month, it is anticipated that the December Feature Drop will arrive around December 4th.
It’s worth noting that Google is still working on releasing updates for its Pixel phones and has not yet rolled out the update for the newest Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro models.
