Samsung is gearing up to launch its Galaxy S24 series, which aims to compete with top brands in the foldable phone category. New renders by leaker David Kowalski and Pigtou reveal that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will steal the spotlight from Chinese-made bendable phones.
Samsung is aiming to create a notably thinner phone, but it’s not blindly chasing supermodel proportions as it realizes that most people aren’t big fans of tall foldable phones. To ensure durability, Samsung may design a new hinge module referred to as a detent hinge with multiple housings centered around it symmetrically. This will distribute the load on the screen evenly and provide stable stopping points for users.
The renders also show a new camera array design with modules placed directly on the back of the device, though it’s unclear if this bit is based on inside information. While the actual Galaxy Z Fold 6 design may not match this patent exactly, there’s a high probability that it will be thinner and wider. These changes, along with a possible reduction in price, could help Samsung reassert its dominance in the foldable market.
