Newly Unveiled: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Nubia Red Magic 9 Get Detailed Specifications

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship application processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, has been featured in a new Geekbench benchmark test. The test was conducted on a new Nubia handset with the model number NX769J, which is the Red Magic 9 gaming phone from ZTE.

The regular version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 features a 1+5+2 configuration. It consists of one prime core (Cortex-X4) running at 3.19GHz, five performance cores (Cortex-A720) running at 2.96GHz, and two efficiency cores (Cortex-A520) running at 2.27GHz. The GPU will be the Adreno 750.

The Nubia Red Magic 9, with the model number NX7691J, will come with Android 14 pre-installed and 12GB of RAM. In the Geekbench test, it scored 1596 on the single-core test and 5977 on the multi-core test.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to be priced higher than its predecessor due to its manufacturing process being TSMC’s N4P 4nm process node. While some manufacturers may stick with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or switch to MediaTek’s Dimensity line, high-powered gaming phones like the Red Magic 9 and the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will likely opt for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. In regions where the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is not available, Samsung may use its own Exynos 2400 SoC.
