Nintendo Switch Dropping X/Twitter Integration on June 10: Stay Updated with Phones Canada for Latest News!

Nintendo Switch users will soon experience changes in how they share their screenshots and videos on social media platforms. Starting June 10th, users will no longer be able to post directly to X (formerly Twitter) from the console’s Album feature. This update comes as Nintendo announced that the ability to send friend requests via the Friend Suggestions feature will also be discontinued.

Since the launch of the Nintendo Switch, users have enjoyed easily sharing their gaming moments through screenshots and videos. However, with these upcoming changes, some specific games like Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3 will see minor adjustments in how players can interact with social media accounts. For example, in Splatoon 2, posting from the mailbox in Inkopolis Square to X will no longer be possible.

The shift in policy is likely a response to changes in X’s API access, which now requires tiered subscription plans for usage. As a result of these changes, Nintendo Switch users will need to download their screenshots and videos to their smartphones before sharing them on X.

Although this adjustment may impact some users’ habits, Nintendo reassures its community that they are working closely with X to ensure a smooth transition for all players. It is worth noting that Nintendo is not the only console platform making such changes; PlayStation and Xbox have already removed their integrations with X due to similar API access modifications.

For now, Nintendo states that sharing content on Facebook will still be available, but warns that this service may also face discontinuation in the future. Stay tuned for more updates on how these changes may affect your gaming experiences!
