Phones Canada: Nokia Collaborates with i.safe MOBILE to Introduce Industrial 5G Smartphones
Nokia, in collaboration with i.safe MOBILE Gmbh, a German company, has unveiled two new ruggedized 5G smartphones designed for industrial purposes. While Nokia no longer produces mass-market phones, this partnership allows the company to cater to specific enterprise needs. The new devices, namely Nokia HHRA501x and Nokia IS540.1, come with a range of features that facilitate seamless communication in harsh and hazardous environments.
These industrial smartphones are not targeted at individual consumers but are instead aimed at enterprises requiring reliable connectivity in challenging work conditions. With dual-sim functionality, including eSIM support, and an IP-68 rating for operation in remote and harsh environments, the Nokia HHRA501x and Nokia IS540.1 are suitable for various industries. Their ruggedized structure ensures durability and allows workers to stay connected in critical situations.
The Nokia HHRA501x and Nokia IS540.1 smartphones are part of Nokia’s complete solution for private wireless infrastructures. They have undergone extensive testing and certification to meet the connectivity demands of sectors such as oil and gas, mining, and chemical manufacturing. These devices can be safely used in potentially hazardous areas where the presence of a flammable atmosphere is unlikely but cannot be ruled out completely. Furthermore, they support all required radio frequency bands and certifications, making them suitable for global deployment.
In terms of specifications, both smartphones are equipped with Qualcomm QCM6490 processors, commonly found in IoT devices. The devices feature 6-inch displays protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Additionally, they boast 8GB RAM, 128GB internal memory, and 4400mAh batteries to ensure optimal performance throughout the workday.
As these smartphones are primarily intended for businesses, Nokia has not disclosed pricing or availability details. Interested companies are encouraged to reach out to the Finnish manufacturer directly for further information.
