The OnePlus 12 is rumored to have the brightest display in the U.S., with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. However, leaks about the upcoming OnePlus Open suggest that it may surpass this and become the brightest display in the world. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, both the external and internal displays of the OnePlus Open will be capable of achieving a maximum brightness of 2,800 nits.
The leaked spec sheet reveals that the external display will be a 6.31-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the internal display will measure 7.82 inches and also offer a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
In terms of cameras, the OnePlus Open will sport a rear camera array consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a 64MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. For selfies, there will be a 20MP camera on the internal display and a 32MP camera when using the internal screen.
The device will come with a 4805mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging (67W in Europe) and will be available in Voyager Black and Emerald Dusk color options. It will run on Android 13 with OxygenOS 13.2 pre-installed.
It is worth noting that the OnePlus Open is said to have an IP X4 rating for ingress protection, which means it is not dust-resistant but can withstand light splashes, rain, and sweat. However, it does not offer protection if the phone is submerged, unlike the IP X8-rated Pixel Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
With these impressive specifications, the OnePlus Open seems to be an exciting addition to the market. Stay tuned for more updates on its release and availability.
