Pixel Security Vulnerability Exploited by Malicious Actors: Stay Protected with Phones Canada

Google recently released a new update for its Pixel smartphones, including the June Pixel feature drop, the June 2024 security patch, and Android 14 QPR3. The security update addresses fifty bugs, seven of which are critical in severity, many of which are elevation of privilege (EoP) flaws that could potentially give unauthorized access to sensitive data.

One particularly concerning bug, CVE-2024-32896, related to Pixel firmware and high in severity, is currently being exploited by cybercriminals. Other EoP flaws were also found in various components but will be addressed by the new update.

Google is urging users to update their devices immediately by accessing System & updates in the Settings app to protect against potential security threats. Although the scale of exploitation is limited at the moment, it’s crucial to stay proactive in safeguarding your device.

On a more positive note, the feature drop introduces exciting additions for Pixel 8 series phones. Users can now enjoy features like Gemini Nano AI model, DisplayPort Alt Mode capabilities for viewing content on larger screens, Find My Device functionality even when the phone is turned off, and reverse phone number search for unknown numbers.

Stay ahead of potential security risks by updating your device promptly and make the most out of these new features on your Pixel smartphone!
