Phones Canada Auction Policy

How to Bid on an Auction:

  1. To participate in our current auctions, download the provided XLS file and place your best offer.
  2. Email the filled-out Excel file with your offer to the designated email address.
  3. The auction platform on our website is accessible only to approved bidders of Phones Canada.
  4. Participants are not obligated to bid on every LOT but should submit distinct bids for each LOT they’re interested in.
  5. Placing bids on multiple LOTs increases your likelihood of securing products.
  6. Phones Canada accepts only the “Best and Final Offers”. The top bidder for every individual LOT will secure that entire LOT.
  7. We reserve the right to conclude an auction prematurely.
  8. Our provided “ECST” serves as a guide for the item’s worth. Although many lots might be obtained at the “ECST” rate, some may exceed this estimate.

  10. Bidders are encouraged to preview all lots prior to placing bids.
  11. Phones Canada will communicate the auction results within 2 business days of the auction’s close.
 

General Product Condition Representation:

For A and B Grade:

  • Majority are a mix of A and B Grade cosmetics.
  • Minimal signs of wear.
  • Micro-cracks in housing are permissible.
  • Visible scratches are okay as long as functionality isn’t compromised.
  • Small chips or dents are acceptable (up to 5 in number).
  • Essential parts such as charge port covers and SD/Card covers are intact.
  • Devices might lack a SIM card tray.
  • All devices are thoroughly tested, fully functional, and without any Google or Apple Accounts or MDM locks. They’re network unlocked unless otherwise mentioned, have undergone a secure data clearance, and start up with a working LCD and touch screen.
 

For D Grade:

  • Functioning devices but might have a cracked digitizer.
  • Parts of housing could be damaged/missing.
  • The camera lens might be missing or broken.
  • May have non-original parts.
  • Likely missing the SIM card tray.
  • Devices might be slightly bent or show signs of excessive wear.
  • There could be a significant number of chips and dents.

Grading Guide

Grade A+

Cosmetic Condition

Indistinguishable from a brand new phone.

No damage on body or panels.

Completely wear-free.

 

Technical Condition

Fully tested and functional.

Battery retains 80% capacity or more.

Software in original state (not jailbroken).

Clean ESN/imei with no user locks (e.g., no iCloud lock).

Grade A

Cosmetic Condition

Minimal, almost invisible scratches.

Almost no signs of wear.

Technical Condition

Fully tested and functional.

Original software (not jailbroken).

Clean ESN/imei with no user locks.

Grade A and B

Cosmetic Condition

The majority showcase Grade A and Grade B cosmetics.

Minimal signs of wear.

Micro-cracks in housing permitted.

Visible scratches are allowed if they don’t affect functionality.

Essential parts (e.g., charge port covers, SD/Card covers) intact, but might miss a SIM card tray.

Technical Condition

Thoroughly tested and functional.

No associated Google or Apple Accounts or MDM locks.

Network unlocked (unless specified otherwise).

Securely data cleared.

Functional LCD and touch screen.

Grade B

Cosmetic Condition

Light scratches on panels or body.

Entire device free from cracks.

Light wear noticeable.

Technical Condition

Fully tested and functional.

Battery performance not guaranteed.

Original software (not jailbroken).

Clean ESN/imei with no user locks.

Grade C

Cosmetic Condition

Some deep scratches possible.

Light cracks permissible on non-display areas (e.g., camera lens).

Noticeably used with significant wear.

Technical Condition

Fully tested and functional.

Battery performance not guaranteed.

Original software (not jailbroken).

Clean ESN/imei with no user locks.

Grade D

Cosmetic Condition

Heavy damage on panels and body.

Deep cracks might be present.

Potential issues include missing parts, liquid damage, or screen burn.

Technical Condition

Fully tested but might have non-functional buttons, sound, vibration, screen, or touch panel.

Battery performance not guaranteed.

Original software (not jailbroken).

Clean ESN/imei with no user locks.

Grade E

Cosmetic Condition

Extensive damage throughout the device.

Significant internal structural damage.

Technical Condition

Testing conducted, but issues like a damaged LCD may affect functionality.

Clean ESN/imei with no user locks.

Grade F

Cosmetic Condition

Heavy damage throughout the device.

Serious internal structural damage.

Technical Condition

Only suitable for parts.

Beyond Economic Repair – will not power on.

Clean ESN/imei, but might have user locks (e.g., iCloud locked).

Any other condition or functionality issues will be explicitly mentioned in the auction sheet.

Payment Terms:

Winning bidders will receive an email notification once the auction concludes. Phones Canada will then forward an invoice. All payments, made strictly via wire transfer, should be completed within 48 hours of receiving this invoice. Failure to comply might result in suspension of bidding privileges with Phones Canada.

Shipping Terms:

  • All auctioned products are ready for dispatch.
  • Shipping fees are excluded from the final purchase amount.
  • Winners are responsible for all shipping, handling, insurance, and related costs.
  • After payment clearance, purchased items will be handed over to our shipping department.
  • Shipments can typically be arranged between 24-72 hours post receipt of payment, not counting holidays and weekends.
  • If items remain undelivered beyond 20 calendar days post-auction, additional fees might be incurred.

Claims or Returns:

Discrepancies in delivered items must be reported to Phones Canada within 15 days of shipment in written format. After verifying the claims, Phones Canada pledges to work with the buyer to address confirmed inconsistencies. The resolution could be in the form of a credit or mutually agreed concession. If a return is authorized, the buyer isn’t liable for shipping costs unless the RMA Team determines the item matches its description, in which case a 20% service fee and shipping charges apply. Returned products must have a corresponding RMA #. Without this, Phones Canada reserves the right to refuse the return or charge the buyer for shipping fees. Disputes, if any, will be managed through the Canadian Court System.
