Rumored Galaxy S24 Ultra Upgrade Could Compete with iPhone 15 Pro, Potentially Available across All Models

Rumors suggest that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S24 series may feature a titanium frame instead of the traditional aluminum sides. According to tipster @Tech_Reve, this upgrade may extend to the Galaxy S24 Plus and standard Galaxy S24 models as well. While the benefits of this change are debatable, it is worth noting that Apple’s new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max already come with titanium frames.

Apple’s decision to switch to titanium for their latest iPhones was mainly aimed at reducing weight. The previous-generation Pro models had stainless steel frames, which made them quite heavy. By adopting titanium, Apple managed to make their new phones noticeably lighter. However, there are concerns about the durability of titanium compared to aluminum. It seems that even the base models with aluminum sides offer more toughness than the titanium iPhones. These factors raise questions regarding the actual strength of titanium.

If weight is not a determining factor for Samsung, and they have found a way to prevent their new phones from becoming heavier, titanium could be a better choice than aluminum. Theoretically, titanium would make the phones more robust.

It is unclear whether all models in the Galaxy S24 series will come with titanium sides. Veteran leaker ICE UNIVERSE suggests that only the Galaxy S24 Ultra will receive this upgrade, as titanium is an expensive material. On the other hand, @Tech_Reve maintains that the entire lineup will feature titanium edges. They claim that the frames for the standard model will be produced in-house to control costs, while the Plus and Ultra models will procure frames from partner companies.

In conclusion, while the rumors regarding the use of titanium frames in the Galaxy S24 series are exciting, it remains to be seen which models will ultimately receive this upgrade. Stay tuned for more updates on Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones.
