Apple is rumored to be making a switch from iPhone leather cases to more environmentally friendly woven cases, and a recent leak has provided further information on this matter. Renowned leaker Kosutami recently shared an image showcasing the alleged new woven-like cases for the upcoming iPhone 15 Series. These cases are said to come in a total of ten different colors and have been referred to as “Eco-fiber Leather Case with MagSafe.” Notably, the same material is also said to be used for a new Apple Watch band.
The leaked image reveals that the new cases feature rubber-wrapped bezels, slightly darker than the primary color. The ten color options reportedly include Black, Mulberry, Taupe, Evergreen, Pacific Blue, Wisteria, Antique White, Butter Yellow, Orange, and Pink. Though Kosutami refers to the cases as “FineWoven,” it remains uncertain whether this name will be the final choice as Apple’s marketing team could potentially make a change.
Rumors regarding Apple’s intention to replace leather cases with eco-friendly alternatives have been circulating for some time. Soon, the truth behind these rumors will be revealed when the iPhone 15 Series is expected to be unveiled on September 12th at Apple’s Wonderlust event. Alongside this switch in case materials, the next-gen iPhones are also rumored to feature a USB-C charging port instead of a Lightning port. Furthermore, the Mute switch may be replaced by a more customizable Action button.
In terms of colors, the iPhone 15 series is speculated to introduce several new options. The base models may come in Black (possibly Midnight), light green, yellow, light pink, and light blue. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max variants are expected to be available in Titan Gray, black, silver, and a signature dark blue option.
