Samsung’s Latest Releases to Boost Sales Amid COVID Downturn: S24 and Z6 Foldables Coming Sooner

Samsung is gearing up for an exciting lineup of new releases, with the Galaxy S24 series making waves in the market. As the iPhone 15 family falls short of expectations, Samsung is looking to capitalize on its success by announcing the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 sooner than anticipated.

According to reports, Samsung’s partners will start production of parts for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in early May, marking an earlier timeline compared to previous models. This suggests that Samsung may unveil these foldable phones in July, a significant jump from last year’s August release date.

The highly anticipated event for announcing these new phones is scheduled for July 10. The Galaxy S24 has been well-received due to its AI capabilities, selling 10 percent more than its predecessor, the Galaxy S23. Samsung aims to maintain this momentum by launching its foldable phones before excitement over the S24 wanes.

In addition to the new foldables, Samsung is reportedly finalizing specs for the Galaxy S25 in May, with mass production expected to begin in November. Depending on market performance and competition from devices like the iPhone 16, Samsung may adjust the launch date of its next S series phone.

Like many others in the industry, Samsung faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, impacting shipments that are still recovering. By selling an estimated 35 million units of the Galaxy S24 and 10 million units of the Z6 family by year-end, Samsung aims to fully rebound from a five-year slump caused by the pandemic. This ambitious strategy underscores Samsung’s determination to thrive in a competitive telecommunications landscape.
