T-Mobile Experiences Network Issues on Friday Morning
If you’re a T-Mobile subscriber, you might have noticed some network issues on Friday morning. According to DownDetector, complaints about the carrier’s network increased significantly, with the number of submissions soaring from 42 at 4:41 am ET to a peak of 4,748 exactly two hours later.
The reported issues included:
– 75% of users experiencing problems with SMS text confirmation
– 19% unable to send or receive phone calls
– 6% encountering issues with their 5G home internet
By 1:26 pm ET, the number of new reports had significantly decreased to 96. T-Mobile later released a statement acknowledging the intermittent texting and calling issues experienced by some customers due to planned work on their network. They apologized for any inconvenience caused.
The network problems affected subscribers in major cities such as New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, Tampa, Columbus, and Charlotte. Additionally, T-Mobile’s support phone number for subscribers (611) was also not working during this time.
It’s important to note that MVNOs using T-Mobile’s networks were also affected by the outage. However, service started returning to normal as early as 9:40 am ET.
Overall, while the outage caused some inconvenience for T-Mobile subscribers and MVNO users on Friday morning due to planned maintenance on the carrier’s network, it was resolved relatively quickly. For future instances of network maintenance that could impact service, advanced notifications from T-Mobile would be appreciated by subscribers.
By providing this information in advance, it would help customers better manage their expectations during these periods.
