Asus has teased its next flagship smartphone, the ROG Phone 8, and has confirmed that it will be officially unveiled at CES 2024 on January 8. The device will be introduced in China on January 16, with a global release expected to follow shortly after. Along with the launch date confirmation, Asus has also released renders showing the back side of the phone, revealing a non-symmetrical camera island. The ROG Phone 8 will feature a triple camera setup, and Asus is emphasizing that the phone “goes beyond gaming,” hinting at substantial improvements to the camera. The upcoming flagship is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and offer up to 24GB of RAM. As gaming smartphones remain a niche market, it will be interesting to see how Asus makes the ROG Phone 8 appealing to the general public.
