Troublesome “Sticky Scrolling” Issue Hinders Pixel Fold User Experience – Phones Canada

Sticky scrolling bug affecting Pixel Fold users

One of the main issues plaguing Pixel Fold users is the sticky scrolling bug, which disrupts scrolling inertia on impacted phones. This means that the page only scrolls when your finger is actively moving the content, rather than continuing to scroll when your finger is off the screen.

Even after trying a full factory reset and installing a stable Android 14 release, the problem persists for many users. Tech journalist Zac Bowden shared a video showing the sticky scrolling issue on his Pixel Fold and even on a refurbished replacement unit he received.

A temporary fix suggested on the Pixel Phone Help page involves turning off the screen via the power button and then turning it back on. While this workaround may temporarily resolve the problem, it’s not an ideal solution for Pixel Fold users.

Many users are expressing regret over choosing the Pixel Fold instead of opting for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 due to this persistent issue. It’s crucial for Google to address this bug promptly to prevent further dissatisfaction among Pixel Fold users.

To restore user experience and regain trust, Google needs to prioritize fixing the sticky scrolling bug on the Pixel Fold. By swiftly releasing an update that resolves this issue, Google can ensure that users can enjoy seamless scrolling on their devices once again. Stay tuned for updates on this ongoing matter.
