Ubisoft is expanding its popular franchises to the mobile gaming platform, with Rainbow Six and Assassin’s Creed among the titles making the jump. While Assassin’s Creed Jade is still in closed beta testing, Rainbow Six Mobile seems to be closer to release. According to reports, the game is currently available for play in Canada.
It has become common for mobile games to undergo soft-launches before their official release. This means that they are initially made available in a limited number of countries before being launched globally. Rainbow Six Mobile was officially confirmed by Ubisoft in April 2022 and promises to offer a competitive and multiplayer first-person shooter experience on mobile devices.
The game has already undergone a closed beta testing phase, which was accessible to players in various countries such as Canada, Brazil, Singapore, Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Rainbow Six Mobile will be free-to-play on both Android and iOS platforms, but it will feature in-app purchases, similar to the PC version where players can buy packs of platinum.
According to Ubisoft’s roadmap, Rainbow Six Mobile will be released shortly after the soft-launch period ends. During this phase, the game is expected to receive updates such as a ranked mode, additional maps, mini seasons, improved onboarding, and event-based game modes. The final version of the game will also include controller support, match reconnect, full seasons, and the introduction of new operators.
If the soft-launch goes smoothly, Rainbow Six fans can look forward to playing their favorite game on their mobile devices by the end of the year. Stay tuned for more updates on the release of Rainbow Six Mobile.
