Unlock Savings: Verizon Revamps Auto Pay Discount Criteria for Telecom Customers

Verizon Changes Auto Pay Requirements
Most US carriers offer discounts for customers who sign up for Auto Pay. Usually, a debit or credit card is required to enroll in the auto pay system. However, Verizon has recently changed its requirements for Auto Pay, and starting February 14, customers will need either a bank account or Verizon’s Visa Card to sign up for auto pay.

Verizon updated the Auto Pay support page to reflect the new changes. According to the carrier, when you enroll in Auto Pay and paper-free billing using your bank account or Verizon Visa Card, you qualify for a $10/month discount. The discount will be applied beginning with your next bill cycle after enrollment in Auto Pay and paper-free billing.

Although no official explanation has been given for this change, it may have something to do with the fees that carriers have to pay for each credit card transaction. However, regardless of the reason behind it, customers will still need to use a bank account or Verizon Visa Card to qualify for the $10 discount going forward.

This change in requirements may impact customers who are used to using their credit or debit cards for Auto Pay. If you are affected by this change, make sure to adjust your payment method before the deadline and take advantage of the $10 discount offered by Verizon through Auto Pay.
