Android 15 is making waves in the tech world with rumors of a new Private Space feature that could rival Samsung’s Secure Folder. Android expert Mishaal Rahman has uncovered some exciting details about this upcoming feature, shedding light on how it might work and what users can expect.
Here are some key points to know about Android 15’s Private Space:
– Google is revamping the setup process to provide more information about Private Space and its functionality. Users are now advised not to download the Play Store since it is already integrated into the system.
– During setup, users are prompted to create a new Google account for Private Space to prevent data leaks, including synced photos, files, emails, contacts, app download history, browsing history, and more.
– It’s important to note that Private Space cannot be transferred to another device. If you switch phones, you will need to set up Private Space again on your new device.
– For added security, users can choose to set up a new PIN/password/pattern or use biometric authentication for quick access to Private Space.
Once Private Space is set up, users can manage it from Settings > Security & privacy > Private Space. From there, they can customize settings such as automatically locking Private Space after a certain time, hiding it from the app drawer, displaying sensitive notifications on the lock screen when unlocked, and deleting Private Space if necessary.
In addition to these features, Google is rumored to include an option in Pixel Launcher that allows users to install apps directly into Private Space from their main profile with just a tap of a button.
As we eagerly anticipate Google’s I/O conference starting on May 14th, where more details about Android 15 are expected to be revealed, users can look forward to a revamped volume panel with collapsible sliders and other new features. A redesigned status bar is also on the horizon for Android 15 users. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting release!
