Earlier this month, we shared exciting news about Freedom Mobile expanding coverage for Apple Watch cellular customers, offering nationwide roaming and a data bonus. However, it seems that these plans have hit a roadblock as recent updates from Freedom Mobile indicate a delay in implementation due to temporary technical constraints.
While customers can still use their Apple Watch on the Freedom network, nationwide roaming is not yet available. The company has acknowledged the inconvenience caused by this delay and is actively working on finding a solution. In the meantime, users have been granted an additional 5GB of total data to use on existing cellular networks for their Apple Watch.
Currently, subscribing to a cellular plan for your Apple Watch costs $10 per month with Freedom Mobile, in addition to your wireless plan. Comparatively, other major carriers like Rogers, Telus, and Bell charge $15 per month for the same service.
At Phones Canada, we understand the importance of staying connected seamlessly with your devices. Rest assured that we are monitoring this situation closely and will update you as soon as nationwide roaming for Apple Watch becomes available on Freedom Mobile. Stay tuned for more updates on our blog!
