Unlocking the Potential: Why the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra Falls Short on S Pen Compatibility

Samsung is rumored to be launching a sleek new foldable phone later this year, possibly called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra or Z Fold 6 Slim. This device is expected to be thinner and more elegant than its predecessor, the Z Fold 6, which was recently released. However, this slim design comes at a cost – the new foldable may not support the S Pen stylus due to the absence of a digitizer display layer.

Despite this setback, Samsung remains committed to producing one of the thinnest foldable phones on the market. Reports suggest that the company initially put plans for a slim foldable on hold but has now decided to proceed with its release, potentially in October alongside the new Galaxy Tab S10 series.

The decision to prioritize design elegance over S Pen functionality was driven by Samsung’s desire to compete with Chinese manufacturers in creating ultra-thin foldable devices. After facing challenges during testing, including durability concerns related to the hinge mechanism, Samsung had to adjust its approach and make some compromises in order to achieve its desired slim profile.

While prospective buyers of the Z Fold 6 Slim/Ultra may not get S Pen support, they can expect a device that prioritizes style and sophistication. Stay tuned for more updates on this upcoming foldable phone from Samsung!
