Win a Pixel Phone in Phones Canada’s #STEMTok Challenge during TikTok US Ban Concerns

TikTok’s future in the US may be uncertain, but let’s focus on something exciting happening right now. TikTok is giving users the chance to win a Google Pixel phone in the first STEM competition on the platform.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Students aged 13-21 and teachers of all kinds are invited to participate by creating and sharing their best STEM communication video on TikTok’s STEM feed using the hashtag #STEMTok.

Key details about the competition:

– The challenge starts on Earth Day, April 22, and runs until May 31.
– Create a video explaining any STEM topic of your choice using #StemTok.
– Introduce yourself and share your expertise or interest in STEM.
– Dive into your chosen STEM topic with clarity and enthusiasm.
– Conclude your video creatively.
– Upload your video to TikTok with #STEMTok between April 22 and May 31 to enter.

The EXPLR account will evaluate the videos and award a Google Pixel phone to winners each week during the competition.

In the US, 33% of TikTok users actively engage with STEM content through their dedicated feed. To further promote STEM education, TikTok LIVE will stream STEM-related content for seven weeks during the contest. This initiative aims to reach a wider audience interested in STEM topics.

An EXPLR representative shared their excitement about the competition:

“We are thrilled to organize and judge a STEM competition on TikTok. Our goal is to provide young talents with a platform to showcase their brilliance and passion for STEM education. With TikTok as our partner, we can reach audiences eager to express their creativity and love for STEM content. Together, we hope to create an engaging space for highlighting the potential of the next generation in STEM fields.”
