The company has announced that they will soon be introducing support for players to join Discord voice chat directly from the PlayStation 5 console. This partnership between PlayStation and Discord first began in 2021, bringing Discord voice chat to PS5. Now, with an upcoming update, users will be able to join a Discord voice chat without needing the Discord PC or mobile app.

Here are some key details about this exciting update:

– The update will gradually roll out over the coming weeks, starting with PlayStation players in Japan/Asia.
– Players in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East will then gain access to this feature.
– Finally, players in Canada, the U.S., and South American regions will also be able to join Discord voice chats directly from their PS5 consoles.

Once the update is enabled, players can easily hop into a Discord chat by selecting the Discord tab from the Game Base within the PS5 Control Center. From there, they can choose the Discord server or DM group they want to join and select their preferred voice channel. Notifications will also be rolled out to alert users when a Discord user calls, making it even easier to jump into conversations.

To make sure you have access to this feature when it becomes available, ensure your PlayStation 5 console is running the latest software version and that your PlayStation Network and Discord accounts are linked.

In addition to improving the Discord voice chat experience, PlayStation is also introducing a new feature that allows users to share their PlayStation Network profile on any messaging or social app. By selecting ‘Share Profile’ from the PlayStation App on mobile or your PS5 console, you can generate a shareable link or QR code for others to scan. This makes it easy for friends to add you on the PlayStation Network and join multiplayer sessions together.
