Introducing our renders displaying the transformation of iPhone 16 buttons

As the end of 2023 approaches, all eyes are on the upcoming iPhone 16, set to debut in September 2024. We’ve worked with a 3D artist to create some renders envisioning the potential look of the iPhone 16 series, based on leaked and rumored information circulating in the tech world.

One of the speculated changes to the iPhone 16 series is the integration of a new extra button. Internally referred to as the Capture Button by Apple, its exact functionality remains a bit of a mystery. However, according to reports, it is expected to allow users to swiftly capture photos or start video recording. This button will be positioned on the right side of the phone, under the power button and will be capacitive in nature, making it responsive to the touch of the user’s fingers.

The new Action Button, rumored to operate much like the old Touch ID home button on iPhones, is expected to respond to a shift in pressure, giving users a tactile and intuitive way to interact with their devices. Unlike the iPhone 15 series, the Action Button might also be featured on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Apple is reportedly experimenting with different sizes for the upcoming Action button, with one variant nearly matching the size of the volume buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro.

In terms of design, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are likely to stick with the sleek titanium frame introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max. However, there are whispers in the rumor mill suggesting that Apple is on a mission to enhance the structural integrity of its forthcoming Pro models. There could also be a significant shift in the placement of the camera module in a vertical orientation, reminiscent of the design seen during the iPhone 12 era.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max seem to be gearing up to take a slight growth spurt, while the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus appear to be maintaining a similar size profile as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. The iPhone 16 series is also set to feature USB Type-C, potentially offering improved charging and data throughput speeds, as the era of Lightning is coming to a close.

As we get closer to the big reveal, more information about the iPhone 16 series is expected to emerge in the coming months, so stay tuned for the latest updates.
