Introducing Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro: Featuring Wear OS and Google Assistant Pre-Installed

Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro: A Stylish and Affordable Smartwatch

Xiaomi has recently launched the Xiaomi 13T series, which is now available worldwide. While the camera-oriented smartphones took the spotlight at the Chinese company’s Berlin event, the latest Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro also made its debut.

The Watch 2 Pro is a stylish yet affordable smartwatch that introduces several new features and capabilities. One standout feature is that the Watch 2 Pro comes with Wear OS and is integrated with Google’s suite of popular applications, including Google Wallet, Google Maps, and Google Assistant. Previously, this feature was exclusive to Samsung and Google wearables, but now Xiaomi users can enjoy it right out of the box.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro boasts a round 1.43″ AMOLED display housed in a stainless steel case. The display is equipped with a rotatable crown and a shortcut key, which allows users to navigate through custom functions and choose from over 20 pre-installed watch faces.

With two styles of Parisian hobnail bezel and two different watch strap colors, the Watch 2 Pro offers options for personalization. It is available in a black case with a black fluororubber strap and a silver case with a brown leather strap. The design of the Watch 2 Pro is reminiscent of classic wristwatches and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. However, Xiaomi only offers a 46mm dial, which might be a bit large for those with smaller wrists.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is equipped with 5ATM water resistance, making it suitable for swimming or other activities in shallow water. However, please note that it is not suitable for diving to a depth of 50 meters, as 5ATM withstands pressures equivalent to about 50 meters underwater.

Out of the box, the Watch 2 Pro comes with Google Wear OS, providing access to over 200 available apps on the Google Play Store. It seamlessly integrates with Google Wallet, Maps, and Assistant. Additionally, the Watch 2 Pro supports remote photo captures and previews, but these features are only compatible with Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, and the newly released Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro.

The Watch 2 Pro features dual-band GNSS, ensuring accurate fitness and workout tracking. It offers workout analysis and performance statistics across more than 150 sports modes. Moreover, it provides insights into sleep quality and various health data, such as body fat levels, basic metabolic rate, and bone salinity, through bioelectrical impedance sensors. The Watch can also monitor heart rate, blood oxygen level, and more.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro boasts a long-lasting battery life. The company claims it can last up to 55 hours for the LTE version and up to 65 hours for the BT version on a single charge. Performance-wise, the Watch 2 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor, accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is available in two versions. The e-SIM version is priced starting from €329 ($348), while the Bluetooth-only version starts at €269 ($284). It is currently available in Europe, but there are no official plans for it to be released in the US.
