OPPO is the latest big Chinese company to dive into generative AI, following in the footsteps of Meizu. However, OPPO has no plans to stop making phones and instead aims to incorporate AI into every aspect of smartphone development. To support this new focus, OPPO is establishing an AI Center to enhance its “AI capabilities and explore a broader range of user-centric AI products and features.”
For end users, OPPO has announced that the Reno11 series will receive advanced generative AI capabilities in the second quarter of 2024. This will include the OPPO AI Eraser function and other AI-powered features, which will be available globally for all Reno11 series phones.
According to OPPO, next-gen AI Smartphones will mark the third transformative stage in the mobile phone industry, bringing revolutionary changes for both the industry and user experience. And to support this vision, OPPO has already launched its own large language model called AndesGPT, currently available on the OPPO Find X7 series.
OPPO’s generative AI features cover a wide range of functionalities, including intelligent photo editing and summarizing phone conversations. The company’s commitment to integrating AI into every aspect of smartphone technology promises exciting developments for users in the near future.
