PhoneArena presents a OnePlus Open Size Comparison

The OnePlus Open, the first foldable phone from OnePlus, offers a design that focuses on providing the practicality of a phone that can unfold, but in a thinner and lighter form factor. To truly understand its size and weight, let’s compare it to various other devices.

OnePlus claims that the OnePlus Open weighs as much as an iPhone 14 Pro Max, making it relatively lightweight. Although it is not the slimmest foldable phone, it leans more towards that end compared to other options such as the Galaxy Z Folds.

It’s important to note that OnePlus provides different thickness and weight measurements for the two color variants: Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black. The Emerald Dusk color variant weighs 239g and has a thickness of 5.8mm when opened, while the Voyager Black variant weighs 245g and measures 5.9mm. When both are open, they measure 11.7mm and 11.9mm, respectively.

Let’s now compare the OnePlus Open to its main competitors, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Google Pixel Fold, and OPPO Find N2. In terms of size, the OnePlus Open has a more conventional aspect ratio, similar to the Pixel Fold and OPPO Find N2, which enhances the viewing experience when watching shows and movies.

In terms of weight, the OPPO Find N2 is the lightest among the group, and it is worth mentioning that OPPO and OnePlus are part of the same company. This choice highlights OPPO’s focus on creating a more compact device.

Moving on to regular flagship phones, let’s see how the OnePlus Open compares to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Google Pixel 7 Pro. While it still has some progress to make to match their weight, the difference is minimal when placed side by side. This demonstrates the impressive engineering and design achievement of the OnePlus Open.

Additionally, the OnePlus Open is actually shorter than all three non-foldable phones, and considering it is a foldable device, it is not significantly thicker.

Lastly, we cannot forget to mention the current thinnest and lightest foldable phone on the market, the Honor Magic V2, although it is only available in China. In terms of weight, there is a slight difference between the OnePlus Open (239g Voyager Black) and the Honor Magic V2 (231g), but the Magic V2 is notably thinner at 4.7mm compared to the OnePlus Open’s 5.8mm.

Overall, the OnePlus Open offers a compelling combination of size, weight, and design, positioning it among the top foldable phones in the market.
