Revolutionize Your Editing Workflow with Apple’s Latest Final Cut Pro for iPad and Mac – Phones Canada Blog

Apple has just launched the latest versions of Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8, introducing significant enhancements to its video production software. These updates are now ready for download.

Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 transforms your tablet into a robust production studio, taking advantage of the new iPad Pro with the M4 chip. This version offers up to 2x faster rendering and supports up to 4x more streams of ProRes RAW compared to the M1 chip.

Key features include the new Live Multicam, which allows users to connect and preview up to four cameras simultaneously. By utilizing a combination of iPhone and iPad devices, users can have a director’s view of each camera and manually control settings with the Final Cut Camera app. This app also serves as a standalone recording tool with adjustable settings like manual focus and shutter speed.

The update also introduces support for external projects, giving users more storage flexibility when working with large files. This feature enables users to create new projects or open existing ones without using internal storage space.

Moreover, Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 now supports the new Apple Pencil Pro, providing precise control over Live Drawing tools and quick access to brushes and settings through barrel roll and squeeze gestures.

Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 enhances professional workflows with new AI-driven features. The Neural Engine in Apple silicon powers the Enhance Light and Colour as well as Smooth Slo-Mo features. Enhance Light and Colour automatically adjusts video for color correction, while Smooth Slo-Mo intelligently blends video frames for high-quality slow-motion effects.

Organizational improvements include custom names for color corrections and video effects, the ability to search for clips with missing media or effects in the timeline index, and text-based timeline searches with details such as reel, scene, and camera angle.

Both Final Cut Pro versions are available as free updates for existing users. For new users, Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 is priced at $6.99 CAD per month or $69 CAD per year on the App Store. Meanwhile, Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 can be purchased for $399.99 CAD on the Mac App Store.
