Telus Mobility for Good: Connecting Low-Income Families

Telus has recently launched its Mobility for Good for Low Income Families program, aiming to support families across Canada who receive the maximum Canada Child Benefit. This initiative provides discounted access to Telus’ Mobility for Good plans, ensuring connectivity for families in need.

Previously, Mobility for Good catered to 500,000 Canadians, including youth transitioning out of foster care, low-income seniors, Indigenous women facing violence risks, government-assisted refugees, and other marginalized groups. With the recent expansion, an additional 800,000 families eligible for the maximum Canada Child Benefit can now benefit from this program by applying through the Telus website.

Key Highlights of the Mobility for Good Program:

– Affordable wireless service tailored for Canadian families receiving the maximum Canada Child Benefit.
– Option to bring your own device or receive a $75 discount towards purchasing a refurbished smartphone through Telus subsidiary, Mobile Klinik.
– Two plan options available: a 3GB 5G+ plan priced at $25 per month and a 10GB 5G+ plan priced at $35 per month.
– Both plans offer unlimited Canada-wide talk and text along with unlimited data at reduced speeds after reaching the high-speed limit.
– Additional features include call display, conference calling, call waiting, voicemail services, and a free SIM card for new customers.
– No contracts or cancellation fees involved in these plans.
– Free digital literacy and safety workshops provided through Telus Wise.

According to Telus, participants in the Mobility for Good program have reported positive outcomes. 97% stated that the program made it easier to stay connected with friends, family, and support networks. Additionally, 86% mentioned that it helped them access necessary resources during times of crisis.

With Telus’ commitment to bridging the digital divide and supporting disadvantaged communities across Canada, the Mobility for Good program continues to make a meaningful impact on those in need of reliable connectivity.
