WhatsApp Now Allows Users to Send HD Videos
WhatsApp continues to impress with its regular updates and new features. The latest addition, as reported by 9to5Mac, is the support for HD video. With this new update, users will now have the option to send videos in HD quality.
Previously, the only available option was Standard quality, which compressed video files to a paltry 480p resolution. This was quite disappointing, considering that most smartphones nowadays can shoot videos in 1080p, 4K, or even 8K resolution. However, the Standard quality option can still be useful for those with limited data or slower internet connections.
But now, with the HD quality option, users can send videos in 720p resolution. While it may not be the highest resolution available, it is a significant improvement over the previous 480p quality. Before sending a video, WhatsApp will display the file size for each available option, giving users the opportunity to make an informed decision.
For those who have recorded something truly breathtaking in 4K or higher resolution and want to share it without any loss in quality, WhatsApp provides the option to send the video in its original resolution as a document.
This new feature comes on the heels of WhatsApp’s recent update that introduced support for high-resolution photos. Additionally, the app now allows users to share their screens during video calls. It seems that WhatsApp has no intentions of slowing down, as they are reportedly working on introducing passkeys and new text formatting tools.
Stay tuned for more updates and exciting features from WhatsApp.
