Google Chat has rolled out another exciting update, following the recent voice message support addition. This latest update focuses on enhancing the Files tab in Google Chat spaces to streamline file management for users. Here’s what you can expect from the new features:

– An updated tab called Shared has been added, along with a refreshed user interface.
– The introduction of a sort drop-down menu allows users to categorize documents by file type, link, or media, as well as by date shared.
– Users will notice a new tab arrangement including Chat, Shared, and Tasks. Behind the Shared tab are three sections: Files, Links, and Media.

Google has announced that these new features will be gradually rolled out starting on April 17 (March 27 for Rapid Release domains), with visibility expected within 15 days. The update is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
