Research Finds that Only 12% of Individuals Own the Apple Trio: iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods

Apple recently unveiled its latest lineup, including the iPhone 15
series, Apple Watch Series 9, and upgraded AirPods with USB-C
connectivity. Alongside these releases, the tech giant also introduced
iOS 17. As an Apple enthusiast, you may already be aware of these
updates. However, a recent study conducted by Consumer Intelligence
Research Partners (CIRP) sheds light on the fascinating relationship
between the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

CIRP conducted a survey from June 2022 to June 2023 to investigate the
habits of individuals who purchased a new iPhone within the last year.
The study specifically focused on their usage of Apple devices,
including the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

The survey revealed that approximately 25% of iPhone owners also owned
an Apple Watch. This statistic is noteworthy considering the premium
price point of the Apple Watch as an accessory.

Interestingly, a previous study by CIRP observed a correlation between
Apple Watch owners and their preference for high-end iPhone models. Data
from 2022 indicated that individuals who owned both an iPhone and Apple
Watch were more likely to choose models such as the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone
13 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This trend suggests
that current owners of both devices may lean towards purchasing the Pro
models for their smartwatch companions as well.

Moving on to AirPods, these wireless earbuds have gained popularity due
to their affordability. Roughly 29% of customers have embraced AirPods,
a significant market share. However, it’s worth noting that AirPods face
stronger competition in the audio accessories category compared to the
Apple Watch.

When considering customers who own both an Apple Watch and AirPods, the
percentage of AirPods owners rises to 41%. This indicates that there is
still room for growth in this market segment.

Surprisingly, only approximately 12% of iPhone buyers own the complete
trio of the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. These customers can be
considered loyal Apple fans.

As Apple continues to innovate and release new devices, the synergy
created by the combination of the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods
remains a significant driver of the company’s success.
