Apple shoots its ‘Scary Fast’ Mac event entirely using the iPhone 15 Pro Max

At the recent ‘Scary Fast’ event, Apple unveiled its latest MacBook Pros and a new iMac, featuring the powerful M3 chip. During the pre-recorded presentation, Apple surprised viewers by revealing that the entire event was shot on an iPhone and edited on a Mac. This showcases Apple’s confidence in the camera capabilities of its smartphones and highlights their potential for professional-grade video recording.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the models used to shoot the event, come with upgraded cameras and the new A17 Pro chipset. These advancements allow users to shoot in ProRes Log format at 60 frames per second, providing greater flexibility in post-production editing and color correction. The phones also feature a USB 3 type C port, enabling fast transfer speeds of up to 10Gb/s and the ability to stream 4K 60FPS ProRes files directly to an external display.

It’s worth noting that the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are currently the only phones on the market that support the Academy Color Encoding System, an industry standard for color correction. This further solidifies their position as powerful tools for professional videography.
