Introducing the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE Plus
The Phones Canada team is excited to bring you the latest updates on Samsung’s upcoming mid-range tablets, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE Plus. These tablets have been making waves in the tech world as they showcase a surprisingly premium design. Today, we have new information on their specifications and a closer look at their external appearance.
Let’s start with the good news. The 12.4-inch Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus will come equipped with a built-in S Pen, offering users enhanced productivity and creativity. However, the 10.9-inch Tab S9 Fan Edition will not offer the S Pen, which is an unexpected omission considering its predecessor, the non-Plus Galaxy Tab S7 FE, featured the stylus.
It’s worth noting that the Tab S9 FE Plus is set to stand out from its more compact sibling by offering a larger screen size. The resolution and technology of both tablets will be slightly reduced compared to the higher-end models, with the Tab S9 FE sporting a resolution of 2304 x 1440 and the Tab S9 FE Plus featuring a resolution of 2560 x 1600. Both tablets will opt for LCD panels instead of super-premium AMOLEDs.
In terms of build quality, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE Plus will feature shiny and robust metal bodies, similar to their higher-end counterparts. These Fan Edition models will be slightly heavier, weighing in at 524 grams and 628 grams respectively. However, considering their expected placement in Samsung’s lineup, the weight is still reasonable.
Powering these tablets are substantial batteries, with the Tab S9 FE housing an 8,000mAh battery and the Tab S9 FE Plus boasting a massive 10,090mAh battery. With these battery capacities, users can expect long-lasting usage without frequent recharging.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE Plus will be equipped with a Samsung-made Exynos 1380 processor, offering improved performance compared to the Snapdragon 778 chipset found in the Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
As for pricing, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE is rumored to start at around €530 in Europe for the base model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The entry-level Tab S9 FE Plus configuration is expected to be priced at €700 with 8GB of RAM and the same amount of storage. More variants will be available, including a version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for the Tab S9 FE and a variant with up to 12GB of RAM for the Tab S9 FE Plus.
Optional 5G connectivity will also be offered for an additional cost. Additionally, the Tab S9 FE Plus will feature dual 8MP cameras on its back, while both the Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+ will sport a single 12MP front-facing camera.
That covers everything you need to know about the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE Plus before their official announcement. We expect Samsung to reveal more details soon, alongside the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy Buds FE. Stay tuned for further updates!
