Get the Inside Scoop: Android Auto AI Message Summaries Unveiled by Google

Google has revealed more details about the upcoming AI summaries for Android Auto, set to be powered by the Google Assistant. This feature is designed to provide safer driving by summarizing long texts and group chats while on the road.

Here’s what we know so far:

– The AI summaries will be triggered for messages over 40 words or multiple messages sent in quick succession from the same person or group chat.
– Users can choose to enable this feature manually through their Android Auto Settings by tapping on “Play AI message summaries” under “Notifications.”
– Google has assured that messages and summaries won’t be saved, and interactions won’t be used to train Google’s language models.

It’s still unclear if Gemini, the Galaxy’s AI feature, will be at work here. However, with Gemini now available as a Google Assistant alternative on mobile devices, it’s likely that it will power this feature as well.

Stay tuned for this exciting rollout and enjoy a less distracting commute with these helpful AI summaries!
