Instagram’s Threads might soon offer a complimentary editing feature that X is making us pay for

Meta, the company behind the social media app Threads, is currently developing an edit button that will allow users to make changes to their posts within five minutes of publishing them. This exciting feature was first announced by Mobile Developer and Leaker Alessandro Paluzzi on Twitter, who shared a screenshot showcasing what the edit button will look like once it’s available.

The addition of an edit button is a highly requested feature among Threads users. It will provide them with the ability to quickly fix any typos or errors in their posts, as well as add any additional information they may have forgotten. This feature will give users more control over their content, allowing them to make changes to their published posts within the designated five-minute window.

Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, has been actively engaging with the Threads community and sharing his plans for future features. In a recent update, he mentioned that the edit button is one of the upcoming features the team is working on. Given the swift rollout of previously promised features, it is expected that the edit button will be available to users in the near future.

Threads aims to establish itself as a top competitor in its category, going up against platforms like Twitter. In order to achieve this goal, Meta needs to continuously release useful and innovative features. Users may flock to Threads, especially if Twitter transitions to a paid platform as rumored. Therefore, the introduction of the edit button may contribute to Threads’ rising popularity and success in the social media landscape.
