Motorola’s 2024 smartphones expected to arrive with a powerful new processor to handle AI-related tasks. Lenovo China’s head of mobile devices, Chen Jin, shared the news on China’s Weibo social-media platform.
In addition to the chip upgrade, the Razr Plus (2024) is rumored to undergo a “stunning” design overhaul. Last year, the Razr Plus (2023) received an enlarged 3.6-inch external Quick View display, covering the entire rear panel when folded. The Quick View external screen received positive feedback for its usability.
The current Razr Plus (2023) is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The 2024 iteration is expected to be equipped with a more capable application processor (AP) such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 AP to handle AI tasks.
The upcoming Razr Plus (2024) is anticipated to retain many of the current specs, including a 6.9-inch internal plastic OLED display, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. Currently, the Razr Plus (2023) is available for $699.99 from Motorola, offering a $300 or 30% discount.
Lenovo China’s Chen also mentioned that Lenovo’s custom AI features will be integrated into all Motorola flagship phones, Moto G mid-range models, and the sequel to the Razr Plus. These updates could potentially only apply to Chinese versions of these handsets.
