Samsung has announced its new Galaxy S24 line of phones, which are being branded as “AI phones.” These devices will come with built-in artificial intelligence and Large Language Model capabilities, making them the first of their kind from Samsung.
TM Roh, President of Samsung MX (Mobile eXperience), is reportedly not satisfied with the term “AI phone” and has instructed his team to find a new, more catchy term to describe these devices. The goal is for the Galaxy S24 series to have a similar impact on the market as the iPhone did when it popularized the term “smartphone.”
Some of the AI features expected to be included in the Galaxy S24 series are meeting notes and translation, Circle Search, and Title Writing. These features will be part of the One UI 6.1 interface by Samsung.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to include generative wallpapers, weather effects on the lock screen, Magic Editor-styled photo retouching, live translation during calls or meetings, and a smart battery defense system.
The official reveal of these features is expected to take place on January 17, 2024.
