In October, Xiaomi introduced its Xiaomi 14 series in China and managed to sell over 1 million units within a week. Traditionally, Xiaomi’s flagship series becomes available globally a few months after its Chinese debut. However, recent rumors are suggesting that the entire Xiaomi 14 series may not have a global launch.
According to Xiaomiui (via GSMArena), there are indications that Xiaomi does not intend to release the Xiaomi 14 Pro in global markets. It appears that there is no ongoing software development for global versions of Xiaomi’s HyperOS for the 14 Pro, unlike the regular 14, which is still actively being developed for international markets. This suggests that not all models of the 14 series will be available outside of China.
Both the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro come with impressive hardware and software features, including the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 120W wired HyperCharge, and 50W wireless HyperCharge. The Pro version stands out with its 6.7-inch AMOLED display, capable of delivering up to 3000 nits of peak brightness.
On the other hand, the regular Xiaomi 14 features a slightly smaller 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with 460 ppi, 1-120 Hz variable refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. These specifications position both models as formidable competitors in the smartphone market.
While the potential lack of global availability for the 14 Pro may disappoint some fans, it’s important to note that this information is based on rumors and has not been officially confirmed. Therefore, there is still a possibility for the 14 Pro to have a global debut.
