New Android Flagship Introduces Revolutionary Telephoto Camera, Leaving Samsung Super Zoom in the Dust

Phones Canada is excited to bring you the latest news from the Chinese smartphone market. While many may think that all smartphone launches for the year are over, there are still a few surprises in store. We can look forward to the official reveal of the Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro, the Honor 100 series, and the highly anticipated Realme GT5 Pro.

The original Realme GT5 version was released on September 4th in the Far East, and since then, Realme has been teasing the Pro model as a game-changing device. Today, on its official Weibo page, Realme lifted the curtain a little, showcasing some of the camera capabilities of the Realme GT5 Pro.

The main highlight of the announcement was the periscope telephoto camera of the GT5 Pro, featuring an IMX890 sensor made by Sony with a 1/1.56 size and a 50MP resolution, coupled with QBC (Quad Bayer coding) and pixel binning. This sensor was unveiled a year ago and is known for its low-light sensitivity and potential to produce great low-light shots.

Realme claims this is the first instance where this large-bottom sensor has been used in a periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto of the Realme GT5 Pro supports 3x optical zoom, 6x lossless zoom, and up to 120x Super Zoom. It is noted to be the most expensive periscope zoom camera in a smartphone.

In addition to the impressive camera, the Realme GT5 Pro will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The phone will also feature a new “super light and shadow engine” which utilizes the full capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and supports DOL-HDR technology at the telephoto end for the first time.

The Realme GT5 Pro is rumored to have a 6.78″ OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 16/256GB RAM and storage, and a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The Realme GT5 Pro is set to launch in China in the following days, and Phones Canada will be eagerly waiting to see if the phone lives up to its promises. The combination of the large sensor with QBC tech and pixel-binning under a telephoto lens makes it a phone worth keeping an eye on. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting new release!
