Samsung’s upcoming rugged phone features a familiar yet outdated design for the first time

Samsung is gearing up to launch the “regular” Samsung Galaxy Xcover 7 smartphone in 2023, following the release of the non-Pro Galaxy Xcover 5 in 2021 and the higher-end Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro last year. Renders of the upcoming Xcover 7, revealed by Android Headlines, showcase a robust and somewhat outdated design with a small V-shaped screen cutout and a rear-facing single camera sensor.

The Galaxy Xcover 7 is expected to be priced lower than its Pro-branded predecessor. While the exact specifications and capabilities of the single camera sensor are not yet known, leaks suggest that the device will be built to withstand water immersion, dust, dirt, extreme temperatures, vibration, and drops on hard surfaces.

The upcoming Galaxy Xcover 7 is rumored to feature a red accent around the rear-facing camera ring, a programmable side-mounted Xcover button, and a user-replaceable battery, all borrowed from its robust and work-friendly forerunners. Samsung may announce the official details of the Xcover 7 by the end of the year.
