2024 Samsung Galaxy Ring Release: Exec Confirms Second Half Launch

Samsung recently held its Galaxy Unpacked event, which primarily focused on the new Galaxy S24 Series and its AI capabilities. However, another exciting announcement was made at the event: the upcoming Galaxy Ring.

Unfortunately, there weren’t many details shared about this new smart ring during the event. As a result, speculation quickly began about how it would work, its cost, and when it would be available. Fortunately, Samsung executive Daniel Seung Lee recently shed some light on the upcoming release in a LinkedIn post (via SamMobile).

According to Lee’s post, the estimated release date for the Galaxy Ring is set for the second half of 2024. With this timeframe in mind, it seems less likely that there will be a launch at Mobile World Congress this month. This leaves us with two possibilities: either there will be a separate event for the unveiling or it will take place alongside Samsung’s foldable devices at its regular August Unpacked event.

While details are still limited, Samsung hinted at integration with its health platform, Samsung Health, during the January Unpacked event. Additionally, Analyst Avi Greengart confirmed that the product will be available in three different finishes and sizes, with the largest size being 13 inches.

The Galaxy Ring will enter a competitive smart ring market alongside established players such as Oura and McLear. It remains to be seen whether it will focus solely on seamless Samsung Health connectivity or if it will carve out a special niche through medical integrations. The upcoming months leading to the next Unpacked event will hopefully bring more revelations for us to determine what our next wearable purchase will be. Stay tuned!
