Exciting News: Android 15 Introduces Desktop Mode like Samsung DeX and Motorola Ready For

The Pixel 8 series has been making waves with rumors of a full-blown desktop mode for Pixel phones. While the initial experience may not have been groundbreaking, recent leaks suggest that Google is quietly working behind the scenes to improve it, with Android 15 looking to be the turning point.

Since Android 10, Google has had a desktop mode, but it was more geared towards developers than everyday users. However, with the upcoming Android 15 update, things are about to change dramatically. The new desktop mode seems to mirror a familiar Windows or Mac setup, allowing for resizable windows that can be moved around and snapped to the edges of the screen.

Although the new desktop mode is still a work in progress and may not replace your actual desktop just yet, it’s a significant leap forward from previous iterations. While some features like keyboard shortcuts are missing and many apps are not optimized for a desktop view, it shows promise for what’s to come.

With Google I/O on the horizon, there’s speculation that the full desktop mode will be showcased as a new feature for Android 15. Alternatively, it might debut alongside the Pixel 9 series at the “Made by Google” event this fall. Regardless of when it’s officially unveiled, we’re excited about the potential for a Samsung DeX-like experience integrated into stock Android. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development!
