Freshly leaked promo video reveals all about Google’s upcoming Pixel Watch 2

The highly anticipated Pixel Watch 2 is set to release soon, and it looks like Google is making some significant improvements over its predecessor. Last year’s Pixel Watch was a decent entry into the smartwatch market, offering a classic wristwatch design and useful health monitoring features thanks to Fitbit’s collaboration. However, the Pixel Watch 2 aims to take things up a notch and introduce game-changing sensors while keeping the familiar external appearance.

A leaked promotional video provides a sneak peek into the Pixel Watch 2’s key features, showcasing its design from all angles. Furthermore, 91mobiles claims to have obtained an “official document” that sheds light on several new and upgraded capabilities. One of the standout features of the Pixel Watch 2 is its temperature sensor, which is similar to the one found on the Pixel 8 Pro handset. This temperature sensor, along with a cEDA (continuous electrodermal activity) monitor, allows the watch to measure skin temperature and provide real-time readings comparable to a traditional thermometer.

Compared to competitors like the Fitbit Sense 2 and the Apple Watch Series 9, the Pixel Watch 2 offers more convenience with its temperature tracking capabilities. Additionally, the watch is equipped to monitor and manage stress levels throughout the day, providing a comprehensive health tracking experience. It also boasts an improved heart rate sensor for more accurate readings, reliable sleep tracking functionality, and automatic detection of various workouts. Furthermore, the Pixel Watch 2 offers an expanded set of safety tools, with a Safety Check feature at its core.

In terms of battery life, the Pixel Watch 2 retains the same 24-hour rating as its predecessor. While this may disappoint some users who were hoping for an upgrade in this area, the watch is expected to deliver a boost in overall performance. It is rumored to replace the outdated Exynos 9110 processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1, ensuring faster and smoother operation. Other notable features include native Google Assistant support and target heart rate zones.

In terms of design, the Pixel Watch 2 closely resembles its predecessor, featuring an aluminum build instead of stainless steel. It is expected to come in four color combinations and a single case size. As for pricing, the Pixel Watch 2 is rumored to start at £349 in the UK, which is a slight increase compared to the original Pixel Watch. In the US, it is expected to start at $350, which would make it more affordable than the lowest-priced Apple Watch Series 9 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.

Overall, the Pixel Watch 2 seems like an exciting addition to the smartwatch market. With its improved sensors, comprehensive health tracking capabilities, and competitive pricing, it is poised to give its rivals a run for their money. The official launch event is just around the corner, and fans can’t wait to get their hands on this highly anticipated wearable.
