New Google Play Store Update: Extra Step Needed for Searching – Stay Connected with Phones Canada!

The Google Play Store is getting a fresh new look with the removal of the Search bar from the top of the Games and Apps tabs. But don’t worry, Play Store enthusiasts! Google has added a Search tab at the bottom of the screen for easy access to search functionality. This change was previously tested in December and is now rolling out to users.

When you tap on the Search tab, you’ll see a page with a search bar at the top and two sections below it. The sections include preset chips for popular searches like AI apps, 3D games, offline games, and more. The “Explore games” section offers categories such as Action, Simulation, Puzzle, and Sports for quick browsing.

The space where the Search bar used to be is now blank, with the Play Store logo on the left and your profile icon on the right. It’s important to note that not all Android users may see this new UI right away as Google is gradually rolling it out through server-side updates.

To check if you have received the update, simply open the Play Store on your Android device and look for the Search tab at the bottom of the screen. If you see it, congratulations – you now have access to this new feature!

This minor change may require an extra tap for searching, but it aims to streamline the user experience on the Play Store. Keep an eye out for more updates and improvements as Google continues to enhance its app storefront.
