Sonos Headphones Launch Delayed: Latest Report Reveals • Phones Canada Blog

Sonos, a well-known brand in sound bars and speakers, is gearing up to enter the competitive headphone market. However, the anticipated release of their wireless over-ear headphones has been delayed to June due to a software issue. Despite this setback, Sonos remains confident that their headphones will be a big hit once released.

Here are some key points to know about Sonos’ upcoming headphones:

– The delay in production validation testing at Luxshare Precision Industry in China is due to a problem with how the headphones connect to Wi-Fi networks.
– Sonos plans to produce between 650,000 and 1 million units in the next year to meet demand, pricing them at $449 USD as premium headphones.
– CEO Patrick Spence sees the headphones as pivotal in revitalizing Sonos and expanding into new product categories, putting them in direct competition with industry giants like Apple, Sony, and Bose.
– The headphones, codenamed Duke, are part of a broader strategy that includes plans for a large party speaker set to launch in 2026. There are also discussions about developing a second-generation model and an in-ear version codenamed Disco to compete with Apple’s AirPods.
– The headphones will be available in white and black and will be compatible with existing Sonos products.

In addition to the headphone launch, Sonos is also working on a new app called Passport. This app is designed to simplify the setup process for customers when installing new products. Originally planned for March, the app’s release has been postponed until May.

Stay tuned for more updates on Sonos’ latest developments as they continue to innovate and expand their product lineup.
