Specifications and images of the Pixel 8a mid-range phone leaked, including retail box photos

The Pixel 8a is anticipated to come with a 6.1-inch AMOLED display featuring a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the 4nm Tensor G3 chipset, the same one used in the Pixel 8 series. The rear camera setup will consist of a 12.2MP Wide camera and a 12MP Ultra-wide camera, while the front-facing selfie camera will be 10.5MP. Furthermore, the Pixel 8a will offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, along with a 4700mAh battery.

Compared to the Pixel 7a, the Pixel 8a will have rounder corners and will feature an optical under-display fingerprint scanner and the Face Unlock facial recognition feature. Additionally, it will come with Android 14 pre-installed.

The mid-range “a” series of Pixel phones have been popular with consumers due to their impressive photography capabilities and AI features at a slightly lower price compared to the flagship models. The previous Pixel 7a was priced at $499, which is $100 less than the Pixel 7 and $899 for the Pixel 7 Pro. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, launched last October, had prices of $699 and $999 respectively.

If the Pixel 8a is also priced at $499, it will maintain the price gap between the mid-range and non-Pro flagship models. The rounder corners of the Pixel 8a will differentiate it from the Pixel 8.
